Volleyball for the Cure

In 2008, Ben Franklin collaborated with Chalmette High School to "Paint the Gym PINK for the CURE" and transformed a regular season volleyball match into a huge event promoting breast cancer awareness. Together we raised $5,500 to benefit the New Orleans affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the CURE.
This year, during the week of October 26th , all divisions of the school will be celebrating "PINK for the CURE" with fun and educational activities. Students will hear a compelling testimony from a breast cancer survivor. In partnership with the Center for Restorative Breast Surgery, the students will learn about breast health, self examination and breast cancer treatment and recovery. The culmination of this week’s events will be the volleyball game on Friday, October 30. Admission to "Volleyball for the CURE", Ben Franklin vs Chalmette, will be free to all wearing the PINK "Volleyball for the CURE" t-shirts.
These commemorative, one-of-a-kind PINK t-shirts, will be sold for $10.00 each. T-shirt order forms will be available October 16th. All proceeds will benefit the New Orleans affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the CURE a 501(c)(3) non-profit charity.
There is another way you can make a difference in the fight against breast cancer; become a sponsor of this fabulous event.
Everyone is encouraged to forward this information to anyone who is interested in joining our fight for the CURE.
