Service Saturday At Franklin

Saturday November 1st 9A.M. to 1P.M, Meet in the Courtyard
Service Saturdays are a great way to give back to the community and have some fun. We need both adults and students to participate. Participants need to come with closed toe shoes and gloves if possible. Water and snacks will be provided. All Key Club and National Honor Society members are encouraged to participate in order to fulfill their service hour requirements.
Adults Are Needed to Supervise and Organize the Students! Adults with carpentry skills and landscaping ability are especially needed. Please contact Mr. Parauka

Homecoming Dance

WE NEED YOUR HELP to make the HOMECOMING DANCE a success! Chaperones are needed! The dance will take place Saturday, October 25th from 8:00-12:00 midnight at the Superdome. We are hoping for lots of parents as we will have a large crowd. Parents are needed to circulate and make certain our "darlings" are behaving - that includes "patrolling" the table area, dance floor and bathrooms. If we have enough parents, we will set up a "coat check" room that will allow kids to leave their purses in a secure area. Note that the Homecoming football game is Thursday 10/24 vs. Sarah Reed HS at Pan American Stadium.

Shifts will be :
7:30-9:45pm Or 9:45-12 midnight.

Place an ad in the Homecoming Program!

The BFHS homecoming is fast approaching, and placing an ad in the program is a wonderful benefit for you, your child, your business and OUR SCHOOL. Please consider placing an ad, whether it's for your business or just to celebrate our students. I have pdf's of the ad placement forms, but can't attach to a "yahoo group" message, so please contact Chrissa Hailey and I'll send them to you.

We welcome EVERYONE to place ads, not just those directly supporting the football program!

Ad "spots" include: $5 "message only" $25 quarter page $50 half-page $100 full-page

Macy's Charity Day Event Benefits Benjamin Franklin High School

SHOP FOR A CAUSE! Benjamin Franklin High School is excited to participate in Macy's Charity Day Event where shoppers can buy an all-day, 25% discount ticket for only $5.00 to use on Wednesday, October 22, 2008 - a private shopping day! This event is closed to the public and you must have a ticket to attend. Franklin keeps 100% of the proceeds from the ticket sales!!!

The student directory is published by the Franklin's Parents Association in coordination with Franklin's development director.

Admissions Open House

Positions Available: Greeters, sign in folks, and Franklin Parent representative to visit with new families - several needed.
Date: Monday, November 3
Time: 6-8pm Volunteers needed at 4:00 to help prepare
Description of event: Great fun, atmosphere is that of a party, spotlight is on students and teachers, hundreds of visitors to the school.

Vacant Board positions

Hospitality Chair-Plan w/committee, create, budget, order/prepare/serve food for staff and school community events. Some specific dates established (First day for teachers, Open House for parents, Admissions Open house, Pre-registration for new families, December teacher luncheon, End of Year teacher luncheon, graduation reception) coordinate with front office and attend monthly meetings.
