Senator J.P.Morrell Visits Franklin
October 13, Senator J.P. Morrell visited Ben Franklin High School to give a presentation on civics to an 11th grade U.S. History class. The school visit was part of the National Conference of State Legislators’ “America’s Legislators Back to School Program.” Senator Morrell showed the students a short video on the nature of representative democracy, with compromise at the core. He then fielded questions from the students ranging from “what is a day in the life of a legislator like?” to “what is the most absurd piece of legislation you’ve seen?” Senator Morrell is the third state legislator to visit an Eastbank Collaborative charter for this year's program.
