Dear Falcon Families,
It is time for Spring Cleaning! If you have items in your home
that you haven’t used in the last year, it might be time to get
rid of them! The Ben Franklin German Club is holding a
garage sale at the Deutsches Haus on Saturday May 24, 2008
in a continued effort to raise funds for the German Immersion
Scholarship Fund. The proceeds from your contributions will
help send Franklin Falcons abroad and offer them educational
opportunities of a lifetime.
We are accepting clothing, furniture, knickknacks, household
items, etc. There is abundant storage space at the Deutsches
Haus and we have already begun collecting things. We simply ask
that the donations be in good condition- no torn clothing, no
broken electronics, etc. It would be ideal if donors would
price and group items into categories before drop off. Our
current categories are:
Men’s Clothing - Women’s Clothing - Boys Clothing - Girls
Clothing - Household items - Kitchen items
Electronics - Furniture - Other
We are asking that all small
contributions be dropped off at either Ben Franklin High School
(to be stored in the German classroom 225B) and large items be
dropped off at the Deutsches Haus at 200 S. Galvez St. (to be
stored in the Heidelberg Hall). Please fill out the attached
form, so we can send you a Gift-in-Kind form for tax purposes. |

The Green
Society’s newspaper drives will now be standard, the 2nd
and 4th Thursday and Friday of each month. That
should make things a little easier for all. Put May 8 & 9 on your calendars, and bring your
newspapers (and your relatives’, and your neighbors’).
We would also
like to remind everyone who would like to have full service,
curbside recycling back in the city to take the City of New
Orleans Department of Sanitation Recycling Survey. It can be
downloaded at
www.cityofno.com and must be mailed in. |
